SUNDAY MORNING DETAILS

During the 8:30 am session...One Room Care for Infants through Kindergarteners in C-101

We have loving staff and volunteers caring for your children and grandchildren in our One Room Care group, while you enjoy the service. Parents and grandparents always need to sign in their children at the classroom door.

During the 9:45 am session...Discipleship Opportunities for Infants through 5th graders

Loving care is available for infants and younger toddlers in C-101. Our older toddlers and two year olds meet in C-103, where they enjoy their own Sunday School activities with loving staff and volunteers. Our threes, fours and pre-kindergarteners meet in C-105, where our team of teachers lead them through wonderful biblical and life application lessons.

We ask that all parents or grandparents leaving infant through Pre-K children in our care during Sunday School and all Worship Services leave a cell number and location information in case of any emergency. Our staff and volunteers are always willing to help you through the sign-in and drop-off process.

Sunday School for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade is held from 9:45 am – 10:45 am.

On the 1st Sunday of every month this group meets in the new/larger fellowship hall: Every first Sunday of the month, our Children's Ministry and Youth Leadership Team lead First Sunday Fun Day. We meet to do mission projects, play games, sing favorite VBS songs and experience a time of prayer and devotion.

On 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays this group meets in the old/small fellowship hall:  Three times a month our elementary children meet for an exciting time of music and video large group time, followed by age-level small group activities with their team of teachers. We ask that parents bring their children to their age-level seating area to check in with their teachers.

On Fifth Sundays all elementary aged children join their families for worship:  Our Fifth Sunday Family Worship Time gives our church family the opportunity to welcome the children...and to learn from their presence in the service.

MUSIC AND WORSHIP ARTS OPPORTUNITIES

We have four ensembles for preschool and elementary children.

Angel Choir is for Preschoolers ages 3-5 (turn 3 by Aug. 15) and is led by Carol Covington. In the context of play, preschoolers will explore the music basics of rhythm, pitch and melody through language, listening, kinesthetic and vocal expression. We will use rhythm instruments, scarves, and puppets to nurture these youngest musicians, help them find their singing voice and give them a wealth of musical experiences. Angel Choir meets Wednesdays 6:00-6:30.

Joyful Noise Choir is for children K-2nd grade and is led by Laurie Harless. Joyful Noise participants will learn spiritual truths and musical expression through age-appropriate music/movement activities and quality repertoire. Focus is on expanding participants’ musical vocabulary, developing their singing voices and preparing music for worship services. Rehearsals are Wednesdays 6:00-6:30.

The Choristers is for children grades 3-5 and is led by Laurie Harless.  An intermediate-level choir which teaches vocal technique and the foundations of part singing, Choristers practice proper use of their vocal instruments while preparing anthems to sing in Sunday morning worship and other special services. Singers must make a reliable commitment to weekly rehearsals throughout the program. Rehearsals are Wednesdays 6:30-7:00.

Chiming Children A precursor to our youth handbell group, chiming children, grades 3 – 5, learn basic ringing and music reading techniques while preparing music for worship using Schulmerich choir chimes.  The Chiming Children Choir is a wonderful way for children, with or without music experience, to learn about music, have fun and learn about working together to praise God through music. This group is led by Jenny Currie. Rehearsals are Wednesdays 5:45-6:30.
